Privacy and consent

Private by design.
Useful by choice.

You choose between local and connected features. HouseCat collects only what each selected feature needs, and connected computers can be removed at any time.

Standalone stays local

Standalone Mode needs no account, pairing code, or internet connection. Settings, Care progress, history, health checks, and reports stay on that computer.

Connected is optional

Connected Mode shares only the status needed for the private household features you use. You can remove a computer at any time, and local tools continue offline.

No personal-document scanning

HouseCat inspects system-health signals—not personal documents, photos, private messages, browser history, or unrelated files.

No hidden remote control

HouseCat does not provide unrestricted command access, hidden monitoring, personal-file browsing, or silent remote control.

You approve support actions

You choose when to export a support report. Connected support requests are visible, limited, recorded, and still require approval on the Windows PC.

Parent PIN never leaves the PC

Your Parent PIN stays on the Windows PC. It is never sent to, displayed by, or stored on the website.

Outages do not remove protection

An already-enabled local Parent Lock is not automatically disabled because the internet or HouseCat server is temporarily unavailable.

Remove a computer anytime

Each computer pairs with a short-lived one-time code. Removing a computer ends its dashboard access without erasing local HouseCat data.
